Marija Kovačević

Marija Kovačević was born in Johannesburg, where she began her violin education, and continued at the School for Talents in Ćuprija, where she also completed high school music.

She graduated in 1994 in Podgorica in the class of professor Uroš Pešić. She was a member of the TV Montenegro orchestra, performed as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, and later devoted herself entirely to pedagogic work. After completing her studies, she worked at a music school in Loznica, and since 1997 she has been a violin professor at the “Davorin Jenko” music school and head of the string department from 2004 to the present day. She participated in numerous master classes and workshops and was a member of the jury at numerous violin competitions.

He is the winner of the Annual Award of the Community of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia for outstanding pedagogical results and improvement in teaching.

During her teaching career, she and her students won numerous awards at national and international competitions, including over 150 first prizes and 20 laureates.
