Marko Josifoski

Marko Josifoski (1978) began studying violin at the age of five at the “Kosta Manojlović” Music School in Zemun in the class of Prof. Zoran Milenkovic.

He graduated and received his master’s degree at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Prof. Dejan Mihailovic.

He furthered his studies at the Bern Conservatory in the class of Prof. Igor Ozim. During his studies, he was a Swiss government scholarship holder.

He completed his doctoral studies at the FMU in Belgrade in the class of prof. Maje Jokanović.

He attended courses in Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Israel and America with prominent violinists: Ida Handel, Shlomo Mintz, Ruggiero Ricci, Edward Grac, Nam-Jun-Kim, Thomas Brandis, Igor Ozim, Milan Vitek…

He was a member of the “Artistic Music Camp Interlochen-America” ​​(1993) where he played with a world symphony orchestra. He performed for UNICEF Parma in 1991, at the United Nations in New York (1992), and at many festivals in the country and abroad such as: BEMUS, NOMUS, Ohrid Summer, Skopje Summer, City of Theater in Budva, etc.

He represented the former Yugoslavia in 1990 at the Eurovision Young Soloists’ Concert in Istanbul. He is the winner of many first and special awards at republican and federal competitions in the former Yugoslavia, as well as many international awards: the Premio Mozart in Verona, in Stresa, in the Czech Republic “Jan Kocijan”, in Italy “Rodolfo Lipicer”, “Golden Angel” for the most successful young artist…

He is the winner of the October Award of the City of Belgrade for high artistic achievements for young people, the award of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts for the most successful concert in the 2002/03 season, as well as the Radio Belgrade Award for Artist. 2004.

He has performed in Italy, America, Austria, Russia, Israel, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Slovenia, Greece, Macedonia. As a soloist he has played with: Belgrade Philharmonic, RTS Symphony Orchestra, Macedonian Philharmonic, VJ Orchestra “Stanislav Binički”, Romanian Philharmonic, Turkish Symphony Orchestra, World Symphony Orchestra in America, as well as with many chamber orchestras in the country and abroad. In addition to many works, he has recorded all 10 Beethoven sonatas with Zarif Alizadeh, which were released by PGP-RTS in 2007.
He is a member of the “Rubikon” string quartet. Since 2002, he has been working at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, and since 2014, he has moved to and continues to work at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where he holds the title of full professor. He is also engaged at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka. Since 2024, he has been the artistic director of the School for Musical Talents in Ćuprija.
