JASNA SIMONOVIĆ MRČELA (Belgrade, 1987) began playing the violin at the age of six, followed by the viola at 15. She studied with a professor for her initial education and trained with Zoran Ilić, Jovan Stojanović and Vera Ilić. Participated at annual festivals and competitions such as the Festival of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia, the state competition of music and ballet schools of Serbia, International competition “Konjovic”, International violin competition “ Petar Toskov”, Open, by invitation competition of the School of music “Vatroslav Lisinski”, regional competition in city Nis.
In 2004 and 2006 at the State competition of music and ballet schools of Serbia, won the first prize both in violin and viola solo categories.
As an undergraduate, Mrs. Mrčela finished her viola studies at the Academy of Music in Belgrade under the tutelage of Panta Veličković. Graduate studies were completed at the Academy of Music in Zagreb under the instruction of Professor Aleksandar Milošev. She earned her Master of Arts degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the class of Thomas Selditz, where she studied as a scholarship holder of the Fund for young talents Dositeja of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia.
As a soloist and member of chamber ensembles, she performed in Austria, France, Switzerland,Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Italy, as well as contries in the region. She has improved her skills through many prestigious master coursesfrom pedagogues and soloists including Siegfried Fuhrlinger, Hartmut Rohde, Kim Kashkashian,Wilfried Strelle, Michael Kugel and members of the Vienna Philharmonic.
As a guest artist, she collaborated with the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Opera and Theatre Madlenijanum, Zemun-Belgrade, Metropolitan Kammerorchester Wien.
As of 2009, as a part-time member, she regularly participates in Wiener Symphoniker, Zagreb Soloists and the HRT Symphony Orchestra. Since 2012 she has been a permanent member of the Viennese quartet “Quatuor du Soleil”, under the leadership of violinist Yury Revich, where she performs notable concerts in Austria and Italy.
Since 2014, she has been employed at the Music School of Pavao Markovac in Zagreb as viola professor
At the beginning of 2019, she founded Duo Regoč with her husband cellist Smiljan Mrčela. They have held several concerts throughout Croatia and have become recognizable by their artistic expression and attractive program.
