Lazar Miletić

Freelance artist – Norway

Lazar Miletić was born on September 21, 1990 in Kragujevac. He received his primary and secondary musical education in Kragujevac in the class of professors Dragan Jovanović and Suzana Cvetković. In 2009, he enrolled at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade as the best-ranked student of the string department in the class of prof. Pante Veličković. As the best student of the string department, he was granted accelerated studies. He continues his training in Berlin and Oslo at master’s studies in the class of one of the most prominent violists today, Lars Anders Tomter.
During his education, he attended various courses in the country and abroad with prominent artists of today: Hartmud Rode, David Takeno, Ognjen Stanchev, Lars Anders Thomter, Hariolf Schlichtich, etc.

He is the recipient of over 30 awards in Serbia and abroad. He is a gold medalist and winner of the international competition in Padua (Italy). From the Meri Žeželj fund, she receives an award for the best student of the string department at the FMU in Belgrade. There are also first prizes at international competitions in Oslo, Stockholm and Prague. He received a special award for interpretation from the leader of the Berlin Philharmonic at an international competition in Sicily where he was declared the winner of the competition.

Miletić was employed for three years as a permanent member and leader of the viola group in the chamber string orchestra “Muzika Vitae” in Vekš (Sweden), where he still performs as a part-time group leader.
For the last five years, he has been employed as the artistic director and solo violist of the MiN ensemble (Norway) as well as the provincial region of Nurland (Norway).

He performed in prestigious halls in Europe and beyond. Concert halls in Berlin, Vienna, New York, Oslo, Stockholm, Sao Paulo, Recife, Kolarac, Milanska Skala are just some of the many halls where Lazar has performed.
He collaborated with many prominent artists of today such as: Lang Lang, Christian Lindberg, Isabel von Keulen, Lars Anders Thomter, Benjamin Schmidt, Roman Simović, Gjora Schmidt, Dorota Siuda, Gavriel Lipkind and others.
He recorded for the record company BIS, Signum Classics, European Gramophone, LAWO Classics for whose record company Lazar released two CDs this year, three concerts for viola and chamber ensemble.

He held numerous master classes at the FMU in Belgrade, the academies in Nis and Kragujevac, the School for Musical Talents in Ćuprija, Oslo, Copenhagen and master classes throughout Portugal and Slovenia. He is a visiting professor at the Academies in Porto, Stavanger, Troms, Oslo, as well as a professor at the ARLEMM summer music event and the Ravanelius festival of musical excellence in Cuprija. He is a member of the jury at competitions in Norway, Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia, Sweden and Portugal.
He performed as a soloist with the orchestras: RTS (Serbia), Helgeland Sinfonietta (Norway), Muzika Vitae (Sweden), MiN Ensemble (Norway), Narvik Symphony Orchestra (Norway), Dušan Skovran String Orchestra (Serbia) and the Youth Orchestra in Berlin.

Lazar Miletić is the founder and artistic director of the international competitions “MiN International competition” (Norway) and “Art of strings” (Kragujevac, Serbia). As a soloist and chamber musician, he performs all over the world and plays an average of 70 to 100 concerts a year.
