Panta Veličković

Panta Velickovic graduated and mastered viola at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade with Petar Ivanovic, and attended specialist studies at the University of Music in Cologne, with Rainer Moog. As a soloist, he performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Radio Television of Serbia, the Montenegro Symphony Orchestra, “S. Binicki”, “Nais” symphony orchestras, as well as chamber orchestras: “Strings of St. Djordja”, “Pro Classica”; “D. Skovran”. He also performed as a soloist or solo-violist with numerous chamber ensembles in Serbia and Montenegro ( Ansambl za novu muziku, Camerata Serbica, Balkanska kamer. Akademija, Crnogorski Simfonijski Orkestar, Slezinger) and in Germany – Telecom-Chur kammer orchester , Rheinische philhalrmonie  and the Cologne Chamber Ensemble, MIN Ensemblet from Norway, with whom he gave concerts in the countries of the former Yugoslavia as well as in numerous countries throughout Europe. Since his student days as a member of the renowned string quartet Mokranjac, he has participated in numerous festivals across the country, recording for the needs of regional television stations. As a member and one of the founders of serbian most eminent string quartet Rubikon, he performed a large number of performances throughout the former Yugoslavia at the festivals NOMUS, NIMUS, BEMUS, A tempo, Kotor Art, Budva-Grad Teatar, as well as at festivals in Sion and Thessaloniki. From 2006 to 2009, at the invitation of the University of Osnabruck, he was a visiting professor of chamber music, and in a duet with the pianist V. Mokroš, he performed at over 20 concerts in Berlin, Bremen, Trier, Osnabruck, Tecklenburg and Euregio music Festival. He participated as the president of the jury at the competition of young artists of Southeast Asia, ASEAN, held in Jakarta, Indonesia. He taught at summer music academies in Trogir, Nicosia, Larnaca and Sarajevo, Leskovac, Sremski Karlovci. He is full professor at the Acaemy of Music in Belgrade.

One of the activities he performs as a versatile artist is the construction of stringed instruments. The quality of the production of his instruments has been recognized by many artists throughout our country as well as in Europe, Canada and America. With over 25 years of experience in that field and as a successful builder, he has published numerous interviews for numerous media in the region such as RTS, RTV Montenegro, Pink, Al Jazzera, Politika. At the invitation of the University of Osnabruck and FMU in Belgrade, he gave a series of lectures on the topic “history and principles of building string instruments” in order to promote the art whose tradition has been recognized for centuries as the pinnacle of human creation and creativity.
